I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Officers and Committee of The Scottish Dobermann Club for the invitation to judge their Club show and excellent hospitality, also to the exhibitors for the good entry and sporting way they accepted my decisions. Special mention to my efficient stewards who kept things running along nicely, especially Scott for collecting us from the hotel and Secretary, Harriet, for dropping us back to the airport.

There was real depth of quality here and some classes were a close call. I had a huge ring so there was no excuse for poor movement and nearly all had a good depth of stride, plenty of drive and retained their outline.

I was pleased to discover after judging that both my BD and BB winners are sitting on 2CCs a piece, good luck with their titles.

MPD (1)

1st Jones’ Korifey Black knight. Well grown pup of 8 months. Good outline, square and well balanced. Pleasing head, eye and expression. Reachy neck, balanced angles. Pushed hard for BPD but not quite as well developed in chest or overall depth. Easy, scopey mover.

PD (1)

1st Todd’s Holyhell’s Serbian Night Fever At Tofferbach. Masculine boy but with a touch of elegance. Correct outline, Good head shape, plenty of length and strength. Well set and used ears. Firm topline. Sound conformation which comes together on the move with good reach and drive. Pleased to award him BPIS. Must have a good future.

JD (3)

1st Webb’s Shalissa’s Siriusly Costly.

2nd Richardson’s Jasprico French Rebellion. Two lovely youngsters that I liked very much but quite different for type. Both had good heads, eye shape, strong scissor bites and well used ears. They are well made, have good bone and tight feet. 1st has maturity of body and depth of chest, slightly larger and more masculine in outlook. Both were excellent movers and were well handled.

YD

(1) 1st McCall’s Via Felicium Vettel. Strong dog, elegant and of good type. Lovely head, dark, almond eye, Good reach of neck, well laid shoulder, upper arm a bit steep. Topline roaches at times. Well angled quarters. High tail set. Moved soundly from all directions.

GD (3)

1st S Siriusly C. I gather he gained his JW here…congratulations!

2nd Brown’s Dark Rocco Miratio. Close-up here.  Masculine dog that gives off a lovely square outline on the stack. Strong, wedge shaped head with good parallel lines. Firm, sloping topline. Not quite the neck or front angles of 1st but good quarters. Easy mover, covering the ground well.

3rd Windsor’s Rafthouse Winchester.

LD (3)

1st Dunn’s, Bradley’s & Ingram’s Jojavik Super Chief. Really appealing dog. Liked his size, masculinity and outline. Strong, shapely head. Clean neck and good lay of shoulder. Still to develop fully in chest. Good ribs and a firm short loin. Excellent hind angulation leading to firm hocks. On the move has an excellent side gait with plenty of drive at the rear. Pushed all the way.

2nd Metcalf’s Linda’s Wot a Thriller. Strong brown dog of a heavier type. Slightly plainer in head compared to 1st. Lovely square shape, firm topline and good tail set. Correct round bone and compact feet. Moved well from side gait.

OD (8)

Super class, splitting hairs here.

1st Tyler’s Jojavik Bulletproof Bomb. For me, this lovely, masculine boy was the complete package today. Clean outline, square shape and totally balanced all through. Shapely head, strong enough but long and with good parallel lines and muscular cheeks. Dark, expressive eye, strong bite, well set ears of good shape and used to advantage. Good neck, front and rear angles. Correct ribbing and short loin. Sound out and back and covers the ground with a good depth of side. Handled to get the best out of him. Pleased to award him BD & BIS over a beautiful young bitch.

2nd Moore’s McPhee & Jones’ Ch. Korifey Onyx. Another super example of the breed and not surprised to see he is a Ch. Great outline and excellent type. Lovely head, good balance with strength but refinement. Good conformation, excellent tail set. Not quite the depth of chest of 1st or the strength at the rea but close-up and beat some good males here to take RBD.

3rd McColl & Ingram’s Ch. Jojavik James Bond.

VB (3)

1st Ingram’s Ch. Tronjheim Belladonna from Jojavik. Lovely 8 year old who shows no sign of aging, still in great condition and on top form. Beautiful outline, elegant but not compromising substance or bone. Head showing desired long, blunt wedge. Lovely eye shape and colour. Excellent reach of neck leading to a well-constructed front. Holds her outline at all times and moved out with reach and drive. I was told after judging she is behind a number of winners here today, so good to see she has passed her qualities on. BVIS.

2nd Verral’s Camperdown Carn Aosda. 11 years and like 1st carrying her age well. Similar for size, outline and femininity. Good to go over on the stack. Round bone and compact feet. Moved well, just not as clean coming towards.

MPB (2)

1st Kavanagh & Caffel’s Doberway Repeat After Me. Promising, feminine pup of 7 months. Lovely outline, good balance with enough substance and bone for her age. Pleasing head and expression. A real showgirl that was handled to get every inch out of her. Excellent, scopey mover from profile. Just needs a bit more maturity which will come with time. BPB.

2nd Weir’s Cobradeil Once Upon a Dream. 8 month old bitch of good type, feminine and well-proportioned in both body and head. Strong bite and almond eye. Not quite the reach of neck or depth of chest of the winner but shows promise. Moved very well.

JB (4)

Good class.

1st Evans, Pittedrigh & Bloore’s Amazon Let Me Love You. Beautiful young bitch from any angle. Excellent outline and holds herself well. Long, feminine head. Correct shape with minimal stop. Good eye, bite and uses her well set ears to best advantage. Good reach of neck. Well laid shoulder and upper arm. Short, muscular loins. Excellent quarters. Moved with plenty of reach and drive. Will surely gain her crown upon maturity.

2nd Brown’s Stay In Style Valentina. Another excellent bitch. Super head piece showing correct parallel lines. Good eye, and well set ears. Excellent conformation which was reflected on the move, showing sound, easy action. Close-up and could change places on another day.

3rd Richardson’s Jasprico Flower Bomb.

YB (3)

1st S In Style V.

2nd Ingram’s Jojavik Forget Me Not.  Another classy young bitch from this kennel. Much to like with a pleasing head, good neck, firm topline, well muscled and conditioned. Not quite the angulation of 1st so not the freedom of movement. Showy bitch though, and gave a good account of herself.

NB (4)

1st D Repeat After Me.

GB (1)

1st Webb’s Shalissa’s Siriusly Stunin. Stood reserve in the strong Junior class and no disgrace. Larger built bitch but retains a square outline and feminine outlook. Good overall conformation and an excellent head piece. Not coping so well with floor today and thought she wasn’t giving her best on the move. Like her litter brother that won JD, they will have a bright future.

PG (1)

1st McCue’s Ashlain Pefraki. Shapely bitch. Good head, flat skull and parallel lines. Dark, almond eye. Clean neck and ok in front angles. Firm, slightly sloping topline, short loin, well angled quarters. Moved ok, not 100% sound on the rear.

L (5)

1st Jones’ Korifey Treasure. Outstanding brown bitch that immediately catches the eye. Beautifully balanced all through, clean-cut outline. Ultra-feminine but not compromising on bone or substance. Excellent head, feminine and shapely. Excellent conformation. Moved with reach and drive, covering the ground with an easy stride. Beautifully schooled and presented. Pleased to award her BB over some excellent bitches today. Should gain her title with ease.

2nd Walton’s Remesca’s Gone Platinum At Dabells. Good outline, and of sound type. Pleasing head and eye. Ears a bit large but are set well and used to enhance her expression. Good to go over. Correct round bone with well knuckled feet. Hard body and muscle tone. Moved out well.

OB (5)

Three super bitches here.

1st Ingram’s Ch. Jojavik Penelope Pitstop. Such a worthy Ch. Great outline and totally feminine in outlook. Feminine head withstrong muzzle and expressive eye. Excellent reach of neck, balanced angles front and back. Holds her topline at all times. Excellent profile movement with good thrust from the rear. Handled with style and together they make a winning combination. Pushed all the way in the challenge. RBB.

2nd Ingram’s Ch. Jojavik Constanzia. A favourite brown of mine and one I have done well in the past. Still love everything about her, type, outline, conformation and movement. Not quite on top form today but no disgrace to stand 2nd to her outstanding kennel mate. Pleased to note she has gone on to gain her title.

3rd. McCall’s Ch. Stormhold Enigma From Diego.
